
Cindy was recently accepted into the 2017 International Watermedia Show. The show is sponsored by the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society of which Cindy is a member. The juror for the show is nationally and internationally known watercolor artist, Soon Y. Warren. She has won numerous awards, published 2 instructional books and created 7 DVDs for North Light Books. Her art has been published in numerous magazine articles and several issues of the book Splash; The Best of Watercolor books. Her specialty is glass and reflection. “I feel extremely honored to have been selected by Soon Y. Warren. I admire her work and own both of her books. She is incredibly talented and the fact that she chose my still life featuring cut glass, makes it even more special.” Says Cindy. Soon Selected 100 paintings for the show from hundreds of entries. There are pieces from all over the United States as well as outside such as China, Malaysia and Taiwan.
Cindy’s piece, “Facets of Glass” was selected for the show. The exhibition opened on First Friday, June 2, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. There will also be an Awards Reception on Wednesday, June 21, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Both receptions are free and open to the public. If you cannot make the reception, you are free to stop in anytime during gallery hours. The gallery is located at the Cottonwood Center for the Arts, 427 E. Colorado Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Open Tuesday – Saturday, 10am to 5pm. If you have never been to this facility, you should visit! It not only has a beautiful gallery but houses many talented artists’ studios with many art forms including potter, jewelry making, painting , drawing and even theater.
Cindy is also participating in a workshop offered by Soon Y. Warren June 22nd – 24th. “I am very excited to learn from a master of her medium! This is a great opportunity to expand my watercolor knowledge and meet someone I admire.”
